    1. I gave this two stars, mainly because it was interesting to read about Pantera's story, even if it was like a Wiki entry with a cover. Also, this was bought as a gift. If I'd bought myself this I believe I'd have been considerably less forgiving.I'm not really sure where to start with what is wrong with it, as there's plenty to go with. The backgrounds and motivations of the band members are never really mentioned. We hear a little about the Abbott family (but it really is pretty bare bones), an [...]

    2. Reinventing Metal: The True Story of Pantera and the Tragically Short Life of Dimebag Darrell is an August 2013 Backbeat publication. I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.I live in Texas and you would have to live under a rock not to have at least heard of Pantera and Dimebag Darrell. I was past the hard rock/metal stage by the time Pantera began to get some recognition on a national level. But, my son was just the right age for this group during the peak of their [...]

    3. This is one of the most well-researched, and well-written unauthorized biographies I have ever read. Absolutely everything you ever wanted to know about Pantera can be found within the 272 pages of this book.Nothing is sugarcoated. The crude, and harsh realities surrounding Dimebag Darrell are explained, just as those whom knew Darrell detail it. These same friends discuss Darrell and his talents with a gleam in their eye, proud to have known one of the great guitarists in musical history. It is [...]

    4. Full of speculation- that's one complaint but worse still it is horribly written, with grammar errors, sentences that are poorly constructed and just a generally messed up feel. Avoid this kind of glorified biog at all costs.

    5. This book, was an up close and personal look at one of the most influential metal bands of the century, and I couldn't put it down!
