The inspiration behind this journey is for Anne Mustoe to travel from the site of Cleopatra’s Needle on the Thames in London to the place in Egypt where the original monument came from, Heliopolis.     3. My 2008 bookcrossing review:Finished this one today. It was pretty interested - perhaps not the most engagingly written travel book I've ever come across, but it was all right. She was completely mad though - one of these old tally-ho English women. Visiting Cleopatra's Needle in London, she suddenly thinks, yes, what I need to do is cycle from London to the Nile along waterways as much as possible. As you do. Oh, and her bike it had a name!!!
