    2. When I read the title I though nothing of it "Darkness Plays Favorites". I found that when I started reading the poems they were very dark but some with humor despite that I did enjoy reading these poems. I think everyone can relate to at least one of these. The writter is very direct and straight forward about her words.

    3. I really enjoyed this little collection of poems. A few of my favorite poems were "Darkness Plays Favorites", "Dress Up", "We Didn't Have the Heart", "The Therapist" and "Noise Pollution". I especially like how Casey Kiser is able to write about common emotions in insightful new ways that make you stop and think.

    4. If you’ve never gotten over your fear of the dark, then don’t read this book. Casey deals with darkness, regularly. She lives it, remembers it, fights it and writes about it and wins, because, in her words: “I will accidentally spill nothing but the truth.” And, that’s the beauty of her work. She’s a no-holds-barred writer. You may not like what you see on paper, but you can’t deny the truth of her words, the depth of her emotions. What you read is Casey in a battle with herself; h [...]

    5. It's after reading a couple Poems that I thought "Ah, that's where "Darkness" from the title comes from".Although some are very dark, the humour used in these poems makes it lighter and "easier" to read.I have enjoyed reading this book and you'd be able to relate to one or more of these poems, that's for sure.

    6. I like the sense of pale humor present in a number of these dark, realistically-gloomy poems. The subject matter is black, but the tone of voice constantly reminds you that the poet lives with this darkness on a daily basis, and keeps you firmly anchored in that grim fact. I received this collection of poems as the result of a giveaway, and thoroughly enjoyed it.
